Khairiniso Yusufi, the deputy chairman of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan, Abdukhalil Khaliqzoda, called the author of the controversial book “The weather of my life” a “domestic enemy” and accused him of treason against the nation and the state and provocation.

Abdukhalil Khaliqzoda, manager and owner of the private hospital “Ibn Sino” was arrested at the beginning of August this year on the suspicion of “inciting national hatred and regionalism” by order of the Prosecutor General of Tajikistan. Later, Abdukadir Rustam, a well-known writer who contributed to the editing of the book, was arrested on the same charge. Tajik activists condemned the arrest of these two personalities as suppression of free-thinkers.

Khairiniso Yusufi, who is the deputy of Emomali Rahmon, the president of Tajikistan, in the ruling People’s Democratic Party, accused Khaliqzoda of “ingratitude to the motherland, the nation and the lives of the great leader of the state” in an article in the state news agency “Khovar”. According to his writing, the author of “The weather of my life” “wants to fool the reader with deceptive slogans and to ignite the fire of local and ethnic cynicism in their bodies.”

The deputy chairman of the ruling party criticized Khaliqzoda for considering “national unity” to be only a slogan and said, “national unity is stable in society.” This is while the author of the book only regretted that “one of the main reasons for the country’s disintegration is the disunity of the nation, the state seems to have understood this problem and started using slogans such as “Unity is the basis of stability” and the like. But in reality, national unity is completed only with these slogans and has not become a reality.”

The critical view of Abdukhalil Khaliqzoda, who calls himself a supporter of the policies of the president of Tajikistan, is mainly based on the desire to correct defects and develop and progress.

The book “The Weather of My Life”, which was published in March of this year and was later presented in Persian at a book fair in Iran, sparked controversy on social networks in July. Natives of some regions of Tajikistan accused the author of insulting them in his work. The author himself said in his answer that he wrote the truth and did not insult anyone.

This debate has moved from social media to the corridors of government and seems to be getting bigger by the day.

Farhod Rahimi, the president of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, also praised the “services of Emomali Rahmon” on September 15 and said that the author of the book “leads the reader astray and misunderstands.”

Earlier, Emomali Nasriddinzoda, adviser to Emomali Rahmon, and Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda, ambassador of Tajikistan in Uzbekistan, condemned the author of the book “The weather of my life” in such a way. The appearance of these articles one after the other and their publication in the Tajik state media indicate the launch of a campaign to accuse Abdukhalil Khaliqzoda.

Earlier, the sources of Radio Ozodi said that Khaliqzoda was a victim of the internal competition of the leaders of the disciplinary spheres. In several places in his book, he called Saidmomin Yatimov, head of KDAM, and Ramazon Rahimzoda, Minister of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan, “close friends” and quoted them in his book. The Prosecutor General of Tajikistan criticized the friendship and silence of the two people in the meeting of the presidential office, along with the controversy surrounding the book. The book also mentions the accusation of bribery of the chief prosecutor.

The book “The weather of my life” was released in March this year. In it, Khaliqzoda, describing the work of two powerful ministers of Tajikistan, expressed his concern about the business environment, corruption, low level of culture and education in Tajikistan, and also expressed his experience of cooperation with representatives of different regions of Tajikistan.
