Emomali Rahmon, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, congratulated Vladimir Putin, the President of the Republic of Russia, on his birthday in a telephone conversation on October 7.
The press office of the presidency of the Republic of Tajikistan informed about this by publishing a short news, and wrote that during the conversation, the two sides also discussed “prospects of bilateral cooperation within the framework of strategic partnership”.
Two days ago, Vladimir Putin congratulated Emomali Rahmon, whose birthday was on October 5, with a phone call.
Rahmon’s second telephone conversation with Putin took place when the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kasimjomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, visited Moscow and met with him on the occasion of Putin’s 71st birthday.
They took part in the ceremony of starting the delivery of Russian gas to Uzbekistan through the territory of Kazakhstan.
Most of the media focused on Vladimir Putin’s mistake during his meeting with the President of Uzbekistan. In his meeting on October 6, the President of Russia named Dagestan, a republic within the territory of Russia, instead of Uzbekistan. He thanked Mirziyoyev for his contribution to the development of “Relations between Russia and Dagestan”.
Later, Putin’s spokesman replaced “Dagestan” with “Uzbekistan” in the text of the Kremlin website.
Previously, Putin made a mistake in pronouncing the name of the President of Kazakhstan, Kasimjomart Tokayev.
CIS leaders usually gather in Moscow on the birthday of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Years ago, they used to meet on this day, within the framework of the meeting of the heads of the CIS and SPAD member states. This year, only Tokayev and Mirziyoyev came to the Russian capital. The Kremlin said that the heads of several other countries friendly to Russia congratulated Putin by phone.
Against the backdrop of Western sanctions, Russian President Vladimir Putin is trying to strengthen his relations with the leaders of his limited allies, especially in Central Asia.
