Aluminum company “Talco” in Tursunzoda city owes more than 297 million somoni from electricity bills.
Mohammad Qurbanov, the head of Tursunzoda City Electricity Networks, told the official publication “Jumhuriyat” that until recently this company owed 320 million somoni in electricity bills, but “Talco” paid some of the debt.
In Tajikistan, where in most districts electricity is provided to residents in a limited or limited way, if the residents are in debt, the electricity supply to their homes will be completely stopped.
“It is clear that “Tajik Aluminum Company” is of strategic importance and we have no right to deprive it of electricity. Therefore, we will find a way to pay the debt only through cooperation and mutual understanding,” said Muhammad Qurbanov.
Non-payment of electricity bill by “Talco” enterprise is while this company enjoys the privilege.
Last year, the authorities announced that they would increase the price of electricity for other enterprises and residents, except for the “Talco” enterprise. Last year, the price for each kilowatt-hour of electricity for residents was increased from 22.66 (2.3 cents) to 26.51 dirhams (2.5 cents).
“Talco” is one of the largest enterprises of Tajikistan that exports aluminum products abroad.
