Abdujalil Hoshimov, popular actor and singer “Shashmakom” died at the age of 79. Furqat Saidzoda, a famous Tajik singer, reported on this on his Facebook page and wrote that Abdujalili Hoshimov passed away in Buston (formerly Chkalovsky).
The cause of Abdujalil Hoshimov’s death is not clear. Some of the melodies and songs performed by him, such as “Nasri Uzzol”, “Talqinchai Iraq Bukhara”, “Mustazad Navo”, “Talqini Bayot”, “Ufari Ushshaq”, “Don’t lose friends”, “Good news of the taste of hope”, “Tajikistan” and others are kept in the golden treasury of Radio Tajikistan.
Abdujalil Hoshimov was born in 1944 in the village of Histevarz, Bobojon Gafurov district, and from 1963 to 1994 he worked as a singer of the ensemble “Shashmakom” under the State Committee of Television and Radio of Tajikistan. In 1974, he was awarded the title of Honorable Artist of Tajikistan, and later in 1994, he was awarded the title of People’s Artist of Tajikistan.
In 1994-2000, Abdujalili Hoshimov worked at the Mirzo Tursunzoda Art Institute, and in 2000-2005, he worked as an associate professor at the Tajik State Conservatory. Hoshimov studied under the masters of Tajik classical music “Shashmaqom” Fazliddin Shahobov, Bobokul Faizulloev and Shohnazar Sahibov.
Abdujalil Hoshimov was buried on Friday.
