Hamad International Airport (DOH) has welcomed Somon Air, a Tajikistan carrier, marking the launch of its new service between Dushanbe and Doha. This flight signals the rising demand for business and tourism travel from Central Asia to Qatar.
The inaugural flight, which landed on November 28, 2024, was celebrated with a ceremony attended by officials from Hamad International Airport, Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, Somon Air, and the Tajikistan Embassy in Qatar. The event included a cake-cutting and warm welcome for the new route.
Somon Air is operating the route with a Boeing 737-800, offering 189 seats for passengers. This marks Dushanbe as the eighth Central Asian destination served by Hamad International, adding another connection to the airport’s growing network.
