The Prosecutor General’s Office of Tajikistan explained the video of brutal beating of Tajik soldiers.
On the morning of April 24, a video of soldiers being beaten by older soldiers was published on social networks, in which they were talking in Tajik language.
A few hours after the publication of this video on social networks and mass media, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Tajikistan announced that it had arrested five soldiers in connection with the beating of soldiers.
According to this agency, the incident took place on December 15, 2022 in the military unit 0215 of the border troops of the State Security Committee of Tajikistan. This military unit is located in the city of Konibodom, Sughd region.
The General Prosecutor’s Office said in the report that Sergeant Jonibek Kasimzoda along with his colleagues, Fakhriddin Azimov, Azam Kamolov, Mahmadnazar Nazimov and Hojiakbar Saifulloyev acted against the laws and regulations in the army. “In order to show their superiority, they physically beat their fellow sergeant Misirov Memainjon Subhonkulovych, privates Choriev Bekzod Toirovych, Karimzoda Zamir Rustam, Amirov Nekruz Faizulloevich and Musaev Alisher Toshboevich and inflicted physical pain on their health,” it was said. in the notice of the Prosecutor’s Office.
On the evening of April 24, the General Prosecutor’s Office announced that it had initiated a criminal case against the suspected soldiers under Article 373, i.e. “violation of statutory regulations”. The incident is being investigated by the Sughd military prosecutor.
