The Asian Youth Championship is held every two years. Due to the postponement of the 4th Asian Championships in Kuwait due to the Covid 19 pandemic and health precautions for athletes from 2021 to 2022, for the first time the championship will be held for two consecutive years.
Competitions in Tashkent will bring together the best young athletes from all countries of the Asian continent aged 2006 and younger. Among the participating athletes, the leaders of the world season last year will start.
The Republic of Tajikistan at the Asian Championship will be represented by 8 athletes: Diana Abdulloeva, Timur Diorditsa, Lutfullo Nasrulloev, Nigora Amirkhon, Hussein Kulob, Mashrab Kurbonov, Samirjon Zamonzoda, Bobojon Boboev.
In general, 424 athletes from 29 countries of the continent are expected to participate in the championship.
Competitions will be held in 40 types of the program: 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 800 m, 1500 m, 3000 m, 2000 m s/p, 400 m s/b, high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus throw, hammer throw, javelin throw, relay race 400 – 300 – 200 -100 for boys and girls, in running 100 m s / b, in race walking 5000 m and in the heptathlon among girls, as well as in the 110 m s / b run, in the 10,000 m race walk and in the decathlon for young men.
