In Dushanbe, under the chairmanship of Tajikistan, consultations were held with employees of relevant ministries and departments of the SCO member states on the creation of an international anti-drug center in the capital of the republic. Particular attention during the event was paid to the main tasks of the body. This was reported to SNG.Today in the press service of the Tajik Foreign Ministry.
The corresponding presentation was made by the Acting National Coordinator for SCO Affairs Ahmad Saidmurodzoda. He outlined Dushanbe’s approach regarding the modalities of the above institution. The civil servant spoke about the main tasks of the center. Separately, the organizational structure was demonstrated.
The program of consultations also included a visit of officials to the border areas with Afghanistan in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region. There, the representatives of the delegations were told about the steps being taken in the field of combating drug trafficking. In addition, the participants of interdepartmental consultations got acquainted with the work of the drug control agency.
The SCO Anti-Drug Center in Dushanbe will function as a separate permanent body.
