Ural Federal University was visited by a large delegation from Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic Sherali Kabir. The main topics of the talks with the management of the university were personnel training for Tajik enterprises and joint scientific research.
“We have always known that the Urals has a very strong scientific base. Today, when we visited the UrFU and familiarized ourselves with the university’s scientific schools, we were convinced. In Tajikistan, the fourth goal of the national strategy has been announced, which is the rapid industrialization of the republic. It is very important to create the necessary conditions for training personnel for the chemical industry, metallurgy and other industries that are very important for our economy,” Sherali Kabir said.
Sherali Kabir added that representatives of higher education institutions of Tajikistan are planning to visit UrFU in August to find new areas of cooperation in science and education.
In his turn, Victor Koksharov, the Rector of the Ural Federal University, noted that the negotiations with the guests from Tajikistan left very positive impressions and it is necessary to use the huge potential of such cooperation.
“Sherali Kabir expressed great interest in training specialists for the production facilities being opened in Tajikistan today. These are chemical production plants, urea and nitrogen gas plants. We also need specialists for non-ferrous metallurgy enterprises, in particular for the Tajik Aluminum Plant, for copper cathode production enterprises. There is a great need for specialists, and we are able to meet this need in the whole range of areas of interest to Tajikistan,” Koksharov said.
Victor Koksharov emphasized that within the framework of the Common Economic Space students from Tajikistan can enter the UrFU both under the quotas of Rossotrudnichestvo and on the basis of internal tests conducted by the university. Such tests can be passed in the university commissions, which are sent to Dushanbe and Khujand. The applicants can pass the tests there and in case of success they can come to study at the Ural Federal University.
