On July 27-28, 2023, on the basis of the National Training Center for the Training of CoES rescuers, located in the Karatag gorge of the Shahrinav district, field exercises were held on the topic “Actions of the authorities, forces and means of the territorial subsystems of the Unified System of the Republic of Tajikistan in emergency situations and evacuation of the population in safe areas,” the press service of the CoES reports.
According to the scenario of the exercise, which took place in two stages, the issues of readiness of the civil defense and emergency departments of the ministries and departments of the State Commission of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for emergency situations, forces, and means in the event of a possible emergency and evacuation of the population to safe areas were considered.
On July 27, in the city of Dushanbe, for general coordination and planning of joint activities, an operational Headquarters of the exercise was deployed, in which representatives of ministries and departments, as well as international organizations, took part.
During the period of the exercises, the degrees of preparedness of the competent services were worked out, and the readiness of the forces and means of the command and control bodies in the liquidation of emergency situations was also assessed. The population considered in this exercise was over 5,000 people.
More than 10 government agencies took part in the exercise, including the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Protection, the OSCE, WFP, the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat and the Committee of the Red Crescent were among the international organizations participating in the event.
The exercise was also attended by ministries and departments – members of the Unified State System of the Republic of Tajikistan for the prevention and elimination of consequences of emergencies and territorial subsystems of the Unified system of executive authorities of the city of Tursunzade and the Shahrinav region, as well as international organizations such as the UN World Food Program in Republic of Tajikistan, Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Aga Khan Agency for Habitat in Tajikistan.
