The authorities of Tajikistan consider the awarding of titles “appreciation”. Some representatives of the opposition criticize the government, which gives the rank of general not in terms of merit, but symbolically and on the basis of their service and loyalty to the regime. While, according to them, some generals did not complete mandatory military service at all.
