At the end of the meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Bishkek, 17 decisions and documents were adopted, and the temporary presidency of the organization was transferred from Kyrgyzstan to Russia.
According to the website of the Kremlin, among the documents signed are the agreement on the establishment of the International Organization of the Russian Language, the creation of the International Center for the Assessment of the Risks of Money Laundering, the Declaration of the CIS Member States “on international relations in a multipolar world”, the declaration “on the protection of human rights”. and citizen to freedom of belief” and 2024 “Samarkand will be declared the cultural capital of the CIS”. The heads of the republics of Tajikistan, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took part in the meeting of the CIS heads of state held in Bishkek on October 13.
The CIS was established in 1991 after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
