As a result of the explosion of a missile in the Far East of Russia, one Tajik immigrant died and another was injured.
The incident took place on November 3 on Vereshagina Ave., Sovetsky district.
The body of 44-year-old Rahmat Tohirov was buried in his hometown, Ghazantarak village, Devashtich district.
Alisher Azizbaev, another 44-year-old immigrant, was injured in the head and hands and is hospitalized in Far East Hospital.
On November 7, Azizbaev told Radio Ozodi that he found a rocket with him while working on a construction site and apparently tried to break it with a device due to a misunderstanding.
“I heard the sound of the explosion and lost consciousness. I woke up and found that I was in the hospital and my arms, head and legs were injured. They operated and removed small pieces of iron from my head,” he said.
It is not known whether the missile (shell) is new or has been buried for a long time.
The prosecutor’s office of Primorskiy district of the Far East reported about the explosion in the Vereshagina neighborhood without mentioning the names of the migrants.
The source said that apparently the immigrant tried to take the rocket out of the ground, but it exploded. Another unexploded rocket was found at the scene, but the authorities did not explain why the rockets were there.
“In the explosion, one immigrant from a foreign country was killed, another was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. The investigation committee is investigating the causes of the explosion,” said the report of the Primorsky District Prosecutor’s Office.
Every year, the bodies of hundreds of Tajik immigrants are brought to Tajikistan from Russia. Most of them died due to accidents.
Tajik authorities said a year ago that almost a thousand coffins of migrants were transported from Russia to Tajikistan.
