Some of the opponents of the “Taliban” government expressed their plan to correct the situation and solve the problems of the Afghan people. Conversations were heard in Dushanbe on the sidelines of the “Hirat Security Talks”. The meeting ended on November 28.
Ethnic, linguistic, religious divisions
Ali Maisam Nazari, the head of the foreign relations department of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, said that the “Taliban” will not be reformed through negotiations. He considered the pressure of the international community and the alliance of anti-Taliban groups to be important.
“You know that the society of Afghanistan is very polarized. There are ethnic, linguistic, religious, ideological and other divisions. It is necessary to build confidence among the Afghan people themselves. From the way of organizing this meeting and other meetings,” he said.
Some of the participants of the “Herat Security Talks” linked a cause of disunity among the opposing forces of the “Taliban” to “the ambition of some influential people in Afghanistan”.
Shukriya Borikzai, a former member of the Afghan parliament, said, “I think there may be some groups that like to share political power with the Taliban.” That’s why you haven’t heard their political views yet. They did not express their opinion.”
However, according to him, “every social, political, intellectual, whether from the cultural society, from the academic sector, or from the political sector, when they came, they expressed their opinion. They said that we want an Afghanistan that belongs to its people and a legitimate system that represents the people of Afghanistan.”
“The security of Kabul is also the security of Tehran, Dushanbe and Moscow”
Sheikh Zakaria of Kabuli, a member of the political council of the Resistance Front, called the international community’s “duplicitous” standards in the case of Afghanistan another problem. He explained that “if the attitude of the international community continues in this way, the consequences of the behavior of the Taliban will reach other countries.”
“Terrorism is an epidemic that has become a pandemic. If terrorists rule in Kabul, Tehran will definitely suffer, Washington will definitely suffer. We should stop the double standard and understand that the security of Kabul is the security of Herat, the security of Tehran, Dushanbe, Khujand and Moscow, the security of Frankfurt and Munich,” added Sheikh Zakaria of Kabul.
At the “Herat Security Talks” meeting, it was also said that along with influential groups or figures, there should also be “unanimity between countries” in solving the problem of Afghanistan. While, according to Asad Durani, one of the experts, “there is no joint effort and the countries are working separately”.
“Story, narration, chatter” or something else?
It is the second year that the “Herat Security Talks” meeting will be held in Dushanbe. “Herat Security Talks” was established in 2012, and its purpose is to discuss the problems of Afghanistan. Opinions differ as to how far this meeting can contribute to the solution of the Afghan crisis.
Abdulloi Rahnamo, a Tajik political scientist, says that the “Hirat Security Talks” are a forum for exchange of views and creation of space.
“However, the expectation that this conference can resolve the issue of Afghanistan is very optimistic, because the situation in Afghanistan today is the result of a great global geopolitical exchange. The solution to this issue will be possible when such conferences and political meetings of influential countries with the participation of the leaders of the countries will be held on the sidelines,” he stressed.
Some of the Tajik politicians considered the content of the speeches and the opinions of the participants of the 11th meeting of “Herot Security Talks” in Dushanbe as “repetitive” and “ineffective”.
Saidjaafar Usmonzoda, chairman of the Democratic Party of Tajikistan, said: “This conference did not determine the mechanism for the implementation of the goal.” What is the mechanism of its purpose? It is not known. If the purpose is to tell a story, to tell a story, well, that’s different. But nobody wants to say anything about the problem of Afghanistan, its solution, they are even afraid to take the name of the student.”
About 150 domestic and foreign experts took part in the “Hirat Security Talks” meeting, which lasted for two days. Although the “Taliban” were invited, they did not come, and their position on the meeting is not known.
“Taliban” has been in control of the government in Afghanistan for more than two years. They are accused of forming a government consisting of representatives of one ethnic group and violating people’s rights, including women and girls.
