The American Embassy in Dushanbe invited Tajik youth to study abroad.
Maqsuda Hakimzoda, a student from Hisar, who participated in the International Education Week exhibition in Dushanbe, said that she came here to choose a good university abroad.
“I am very happy to see this exhibition up close today. We got many things from this exhibition, like many books. They gave us many suggestions about studying in other countries. I want to study abroad, today we were offered here that if you want, we will support you to study abroad,” he said.
International education week will be held in Dushanbe for the 17th time. This exhibition is supported by the American Embassy in Tajikistan. Young people and those wishing to study in foreign institutions, including America, often gather here.
In this exhibition, people who have the experience of studying abroad exchange their experiences with those who wish to study abroad. The exhibition is aimed at students of 8th grade and above.
Ruhollah Surush, the coordinator of international education programs at the American Council in Tajikistan, said, “I think it is useful to participate in this exhibition. Because more than 15-20 study abroad programs are presented here. Readers can see and discover new worlds. That is, there are programs that can send them to the USA free of charge, to study there and contribute to the development of Tajikistan.”
The main condition for participation in international education programs is knowledge of English. However, in some cultural programs, knowing English is not very important.
Kerry Lee, charge d’affaires of the US Embassy in Tajikistan, said, “Through these programs, we are preparing young leaders not only in Tajikistan, but also around the world.”
Through the programs of the US Embassy in Tajikistan, more than 7,000 residents of Tajikistan have studied in America. Tajik authorities say that more than 40,000 people are currently studying in universities abroad.
