Tajikistan’s First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank, Firuz Sharifzoda, and Bangkok Bank President Chartsiri Sophonpanich discussed the potential for a Bangkok Bank branch in Tajikistan during a visit by a Tajik delegation to Thailand.

The talks focused on enhancing trade and investment, with an emphasis on advancing bilateral banking cooperation and opening correspondent accounts.

The Tajik delegation also met Thailand’s Minister of Industry, Akanat Promphan, and EXIM Bank President Rak Vorrakitpokatorn, discussing EXIM Bank’s support for Tajikistan’s key projects in industry, energy, and agriculture.

Both countries agreed to deepen cooperation in sectors like energy, agriculture, digitalization, healthcare, and tourism.

Additionally, the Tajik delegation met with Thai Chamber of Commerce Vice President Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, exploring investment opportunities in mining, energy, trade, logistics, and AI technologies.
